Pastor Pam Turfa
Bio
Pastor Pam Turfa joined Sandy Run Lutheran Church in August 2022 as stated supply pastor.
Previously, she served as called pastor of the Corinth-St. Mark’s Parish in Saluda County for more than twelve years before retiring in September 2021.
During her time at Corinth-St. Mark’s, she developed a passion for visitation and pastoral care. She cares deeply about walking with the leaders and members of the congregation as they make decisions about their future.
She is a 2008 graduate of Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary in Columbia. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Mississippi University for Women and a Master of Business Administration from Temple University.
Before attending seminary, she spent 27 years as an assignment editor and reporter at newspapers in Pennsylvania, Virginia, New Mexico, and Mississippi.
Pastor Pam lives with her husband Pastor Art Turfa in the Red Bank area of Lexington County. Pastor Art, also retired, serves as interim pastor of a congregation seeking a new pastor. They are the parents of Drew, who is married to Amy. Drew and Amy have one son. (That grandson is the Turfas’ pride and joy!)
The Turfas love traveling, catching the latest movie at a matinee, sightseeing and spending time outdoors. One of their favorite activities is taking a day and heading to a South Carolina community new to them to explore.
Pastor Pam is in the Sandy Run pastor’s office and community on Wednesdays. She teaches a Bible Study on Wednesdays and Confirmation class twice a month, she visits on Wednesday afternoons, and she is available any other day for emergencies.
Please call her about any need – or just to talk.
